Visit From The Mayor
Once again Georgina Oxley visted the Shed. This time in her capacity as Mayor of Kingston. Also attending were members of Chelsea Rotary. We were presented with a donation from Rotary for our volunteer work we did at the Kingston Farmers Market last year. We welcome any chance to host people at our shed, as it is something we a very proud of and like to showing it off.
Unofficial Opening
We had our unofficial opening of the shed and had quite a good turn out, may be it was the free bacon and eggs.
It was good to see our only life member Colin Duggan come along, also good to see Allen Cousins, who we haven't seen for a while, he told me that Vaughn is keen to get back to the shed.
We missed Bob Kingston as he is in Rehab, recouping after hip surgery, get well soon Bob. Gary brought along his better half, Pam who was very impresssed by the new shed.
Chelsea Men's shed Over 50 So What
This was a very successful day which saw a lot of members come along for the morning. We had a sausage sizzle running and we sold lots of excess tools, a great clean out and created some space, which is desperately needed.
The other highlight of the day was the recording of a TV program for a show on Channel 31, called “Over 50 So What”, hosted by Carol Ohalloran
