We were fortunate enough today (4th Sept 2024) to get a visit from our Council member Georgina Oxley. Georgina is a great supporter of the men's shed and was instrumental in getting the planning permit across the line.
Georgina was very impressed in what we have created for local men in our community. She also loved the items we have made and promises to be back to buy some items for Xmas presents.
Thanks once again
We had our unofficial opening of the shed and had quite a good turn out, may be it was the free bacon and eggs.
It was good to see our only life member Colin Duggan come along, also good to see Allen Cousins, who we haven't seen for a while, he told me that Vaughn is keen to get back to the shed.
We missed Bob Kingston as he is in Rehab, recouping after hip surgery, get well soon Bob. Gary brought along his better half, Pam who was very impresssed by the new shed.
This was a very successful day which saw a lot of members come along for the morning. We had a sausage sizzle running and we sold lots of excess tools, a great clean out and created some space, which is desperately needed.
The other highlight of the day was the recording of a TV program for a show on Channel 31, called “Over 50 So What”, hosted by Carol Ohalloran
