Where's the new Chelsea Men's Shed

The new shed is located at 71 Catherine Ave.

It's opposite the bowling club, on the corner of Catherine Ave and Beardsworth Ave Chelsea.

Come down and have a look around, and join up.

 

We're open for business

Chelsea Men's shed is currently open and actively seeking new members. 

Sitting at home doing nothing, bored with watching the same old TV shows? Got some spare time and wondering what to do?

Well why not come down to your local Men's Shed located at 71 Catherine Ave Chelsea look out for our signs, come and enjoy the company of other like minded blokes keen on doing a bit of woodwork.

You can start on something simple like a bird nesting box, or bring one of your own projects.

Now that we are located in our new home we have extended the hours of operation.

The shed will be open on Mondays from 9.00 am to 1.00pm, Wednesdays, 9.00 to 3.00pm as well as Thursdays 9.00am - 1.30pm and Saturdays 9.00am - 1.00 pm.
The intention is to operate 6 days a week Monday - Saturday 9.00 am - 5.00pm once we have the demand and the volunteers to manage the shed.

We have several active projects on the go and are building up our collection of items to sell at the Boneach primary school farmers market

About Us

The modern Men’s Shed is an updated version of the shed in the backyard that has long been a part of Australian culture. Men’s Sheds are found in many cities and towns around Australia and continue to spring up internationally.

Members of Men’s Sheds come from all walks of life – the bond that unites them is that they are men with time on their hands and would like something meaningful to do with that time.

The Men’s Shed movement has now become one of the most powerful tools in addressing health and wellbeing and helping men to once again become valued and productive members of our community.

Originally established as a program of the Chelsea Church of Christ, in August of 2006, and becoming incorporated as an independent entity in 2013, the Chelsea Men's Shed has been providing much needed place for men, to the community of Chelsea.

The Chelsea Men's Shed is located at 71 Catherine Avenue, Chelsea, 3196. Come along and work on one of the sheds projects or bring along your own project and make use of the many tools we have available. 

The Chelsea Men's Shed is open Monday 9.00 am - 1.00pm, Wednesdays 9am - 3.00pm, Thursdays  9.00am - 1.30pm and  Saturdays 9.00 am - 1.00pm
